Editorial Policy
This page states plainly how the content here is produced, so you can judge how much to trust it.
How articles are written
Articles are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a human before publication. That review is not a formality — it is where the numbers get checked and where anything that cannot be sourced gets cut or labelled.
We do this because it is the honest description of the process, and because an unreviewed AI draft is not good enough for content people rely on when making something for a baby.
The rules the drafting follows
Numbers must trace to something checkable. A measurement on this site comes from a published standard, a regulation, or a stated calculation. Where a figure is an estimate, the page labels it as an estimate and shows the method, so you can adjust it for your own situation.
Uncertainty is stated, not smoothed over. If crochet blogs disagree on a number and there is no authority to settle it, the page says so. If a figure is a community convention rather than a standard, the page says that. This is more useful than false precision and it is why several pages here contain a section on what other guides get wrong.
No patterns. We publish no crochet patterns. Writing a working pattern means crocheting and test-fitting it; reproducing someone else’s means infringing their copyright. Neither is something this site does.
No AI photographs of crochet. Explained on the about page. Short version: in this craft an AI-generated photograph of a finished object is the signature of a well-documented scam, and no disclaimer undoes that. Images here are charts, diagrams and typography.
Safety content cites primary sources. Anything touching infant safety points at the actual guidance — currently the American Academy of Pediatrics safe-sleep recommendations — and does not soften it to make a craft project sound more useful than it is. A handmade blanket is a lovely gift and it is not infant bedding, and this site will keep saying so.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed, with the page noting that it changed. See contact. We would rather be corrected than be confidently wrong in a search result for years.
Affiliate links and advertising
At the time of writing this site carries no advertising, no affiliate links, and no sponsored content. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens, and any paid relationship will be disclosed on the page it affects — not in a footer nobody reads.
